It is best to avoid it. Yogurt contains a high concentration of sugar. It is also a dairy product. Though some sources claim that yogurt is low a glycemic food, we have experienced the opposite to be true. We have tested the blood sugar of many clients after eating regular yogurt and understand enough about the way foods breakdown to say this is inaccurate. There is another metric that measures the amount of sugar concentrated in a food and that is called the glycemic load. It takes into account the release of sugar and conversion of other nutrients into sugar during digestion. Taking this more advanced metric into account, yogurt is not suitable for weight loss.
