    When you retain water you are essentially dehydrated meaning that water has moved away from your metabolic organs and is sitting at the top of the skin. This will greatly slow metabolism.

    The second reason is that when your body metabolizes (burns) stored fat as fuel, it eliminates it through water. Therefore, if you are retaining water…you won’t be able to get rid of fat as quickly as if you were not retaining water.
