In many cases, people with thin, healthy looking bodies their entire life will experience a sudden weight gain later in life-some people think this occurs around 40 years old. Whatever the magic number is, it has nothing to do with magic at all. It has to do with two things: change and habits. Eventually your body changes-hormones change, genetics, disease and illness also have an impact. Our genetics load the gun and our lifestyle pulls the trigger. Our habits may also catch up to us. I have a friend who’s husband was very thin and looked as healthy as could be. But he ate very unhealthy foods like packaged cupcakes, candy bars…and I don’t mean once in a while-I mean, that’s what he ate-as his food! He also led a very sedentary lifestyle. Then, at age 43, he had a heart attack and died. No one understood why-because he looked healthy! Just because you look healthy, doesn’t mean your insides are healthy-this is why it is important to live a healthy lifestyle no matter what your appearance!
