Most of the time the diet will relieve sweet cravings simply through balanced blood sugar. However, if you do crave something sugary, it could be a “need based craving” and therefore, you should listen to it. However, your body doesn’t know how to tell you to consume 3 to 5 ounces of sweet potato, etc. so it is up to you to interpret the sweet craving as a message from your body requesting a carbohydrate-and select a healthy carbohydrate.
If you do want a little sweet treat, you can have some fruit smoothie (recipes in our cookbook section), frozen crystal light sorbet, or make some of our healthy oatmeal cookies or yam brownies (also in our cookbook)
