Saturated fats provide much lower health benefits than unsaturated fats. Again, lets recap some of the information we learned in Step 1: Fats slow metabolic rate AND store as fat in your body. If you minimize your fat consumption to 10%-20% of your overall dietary intake from fat and limit the majority of that fat to oils (unsaturated fats), you will receive all the health benefits from consuming a healthy amount of healthy fats without the negative side effects such as weight gain. Selecting lean cuts of meat are a much better alternative for health reasons anyway. I know it doesn’t always taste as good initially. However, we’re just asking you to minimize the quantity you eat. You can still enjoy some bone-in rib eyes and dark meat turkey thighs!
